I know, I know...that longing, that curiosity, that awful, terrifying feeling when you know you're being taken advantage of...thankfully I've never been raped, but I had a lot of gross and cruel things said to me by bad boyfriends relative to sex. Those things scar us for life. How brave to write about it. I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet...

I've probably told you before, but I love your writing because it is so 'close to the bone.' Take this recollection, for instance. It is a rare voice (in my opinion) willing to pare right down to the truth of their own experience. There is an undeniable strength to 'honesty' in prose. And there is courage, real courage, in revealing bone. The real protein is in the marrow.
